Become a blogger for KnowledgeBox

The more eagle eyed among you might have seen on our “Meet the team” page a spare slot. That slot could be filled by YOU.

Sarah, Catharine, Judy and myself love writing for this blog, but we also know that the real stories worth telling are to be found in the classroom. We’ve heard some very inspirational classroom anecdotes recently and we’re eager to get those stories told.

So this is the deal.

If you are a KnowledgeBox user and want to…

  1. Tell us about an interesting learning experience you had in the classroom that used KnowledgeBox in some way.
  2. Or share a lesson idea that involves KnowledgeBox, perhaps based around a cross curricular topic.

…then we want to hear about it.

We don’t mind if you want to share it to be nice or to show off how brilliant you and your class are (perhaps both). The point is we want to know about all the good things that can be achieved with a bank of digital content, a spoonful of enthusiasm and a little dusting of imagination.

What’s in it for you?

Well, the glow of publishing your ideas or experiences is always worth pursuing. Also contributing back into the KnowledgeBox community helps promote good ICT teaching. Who knows what you could inspire?

To get a free module you need to submit 4 posts of between 250-500 words each on a lesson idea or lesson experience(s) that used, or could use, some part of KnowledgeBox and its resources. All posts need to be submitted within 12 weeks of becoming a KnowledgeBox blog author. You are welcome to submit 4 posts together in one batch – but we will publish them as separate entities.

If you want some inspiration for lesson ideas see Catharine’s World Food  day post or Judy’s Autumnal post or even my Penguin post. You could also check out Susan Wilcock’s Topic list she left on the “Overwhelmed? Can we help you” post.

Obviously there are a number of things we need to verify with anyone wanting to do this which I’m happy to let you know about if you email me your idea. I will send you a document with more detail about what it takes to be a KnowledgeBox blogger.

We reserve the right not to use every submission, the Editor’s decision is final, etc, etc.

So get those thinking caps on and tell us your stories.
