The “KnowledgeBox” platform is designed to be used by teachers at Foundation, Key Stage 1 and 2 to deliver exciting digital tools and content into their lessons.
KnowledgeBox Primary Learning Environment (PLE)
This is the most widely used version of KnowledgeBox and probably the one you currently know about or, indeed, use.
Designed from scratch to meet the needs of primary schools in the UK, its features allow teachers and pupils to find resources to help them meet the full range of curriculum objectives.
KnowledgeBox PLE is the cache server version. Before schools really started to introduce broadband into the classroom it made sense to have much of the content on a server box in the school itself. It simply speeded up access.
KnowledgeBox PLE comes with a wealth of functionality such as teacher and pupil access, talkboards, pupil tracking and lesson-building tools.
KnowledgeBox Online
KnowledgeBox Online is the new version of KnowledgeBox.
Why has KnowledgeBox moved online? Simple really: schools are better equipped and more eager to work with online platforms than ever before. There’s no hardware to maintain and we can improve and update quickly and easily, giving you consistently better service.
We also know from your feedback that you were hungry for home access to make planning easier. Well, you can access KnowledgeBox Online anywhere you can access the internet, as long as you know your login details.
KnowledgeBox Online is focused on the content itself and, whilst the online version doesn’t have all the functionality that the PLE version delivers, it does let you access the resources you need in the way that suits you – plan from home, school or wherever you choose with anywhere, anytime online access.
If you want to join the KnowledgeBox family this is a great place to start.
